When first designing the ground-breaking system, INA Towing’s CEO, Gay Rochester, had very clear priorities from the start:
speed and safety.
The system needed to enable their staff to perform their jobs as efficiently as possible so that any driver that was in harm’s way could be moved to safety. Also, it needed to enable their top-class vendor network to perform their duties with as much assistance as was required. Once the job was complete, it needed to track, and be able to report, on key metrics to constantly improve the process.
This system was named Shepherd as an homage to all the people involved to make sure that the people involved in these incidents are taken care of and brought to safety. In comparison to how a traditional shepherd uses a crook to keep their flock safe, INA Towing and their vendor network use the similarly shaped hook of a tow line.
